3/15 Master's Message

Brothers all:

Tomorrow evening, March 16th, at our regular Stated Communication, we will be having the Pine Meadow Chapter of Demolay present the Ceremony of Light and the Shield Talk, provided all are in good health.  One of the boys has lost his voice and we hope it returns by tomorrow evening.  Remember that we are having some lasagna at 6 pm for those who can come for a bite before the 7:30 meeting.  We do have some business to take care of tomorrow, not the least of which will be an installation, (short-form) of the new Wardens and our Secretary.  We shouldn’t have them pro-tem for the rest of the year now should we?

Next Saturday, there is a Boy Scout’s Court of Honor and the four scouts who helped serve at the Senior Dinner will be honored for their work at that dinner.  Brother Scott Horsefield will provide more details tomorrow during the meeting.  All officers are invited to attend the dinner and the Court Of Honor.

I have bad news and good news.  The bad news is that I changed the date of the Awards Ceremony from May 10th to May 17th, 2009.  This meant sending a second letter to our five 50-year recipients.  The good news, is that it will no longer interfere with Mother’ Day (May 10th), which several brothers were able to point out to me after my plans with our district Grand Lodge Officer were already set.  Fortunately, Don Dean is flexible and also agrees that to interfere with Mother’s Day would not be a great idea, so thus we have a change.  2 pm will be the Awards Ceremony at the lodge.

The inspection night will be April 6th if any of you were confused last week.  At first it was scheduled for February 2nd, then March 2nd, and therefore last week I (with little to no thought) wrote April 2nd.  Well, it will actually be April 6th, and we should have two live candidates, because one of our business items tomorrow will be to vote on a petition tomorrow for a second candidate.  Now that will be a good evening!  Do we need to do another rehearsal on April 4th, Saturday from 10 to noon?  How confident are all of you at this point?

We have obtained lodge records from Gert Gilman and we are proceeding to get all in readiness for the inspection, including completion of all accounting records that were held up, pending the transfer of the lodge records held at Bill Gilman’s home prior to his passing.

In closing I hope to see all of you tomorrow.  The Demolay work by Pine Meadow Chapter is always excellent.  I hope to see you all there!!!

My sincerest fraternal regards to all!
